Talented, bisexual boxer, Nicola Adams, has earned a spot on the British Olympics team after qualifying at a tournament in Turkey. Adams has made sporting headlines in the last five years winning major competitions including gold in the 51kg weight class at the 2012 Olympics. She added a European championship last year and won gold at this European qualifier.
Adams stated after her win:
“Through this tournament I feel like I've boxed really well and I've gone from strength to strength.
“I have not taken anyone lightly and have treated every competition as a final. Every time I get in the ring I have to give 110% because my opponents have nothing to lose and everything to gain so I have to make sure I go in there with my A-game and come away with the victory."
Adams is openly bisexual, and was named the most influential LGBT person in Britain by The Independent in 2012. She also became the first openly LGBT person to win an Olympic boxing Gold medal, after her win at the 2012 Summer Olympics.
