'senior' Races?

Hi Organisers,

Can you confirm what age 'senior/open' refers to in the race categories please?

And confirming there's no mixed events... (other than the 8?)

Thanks!

Hi -

Our initial answer that we posted here was wrong. The Senior term is a reflection of the proper FISA terminology for competitors in the 18 - 26 yo average age bracket. Senior races will take place on Saturday alongside the Masters races because they are average age categories. The term Open refers to a race where anyone can enter, regardless of age. Fastest man or woman wins/places/shows.

There is only one official mixed event: the 500m. 8+ dash. With that said, have a look in the regatta details page, in the section that says 'Competitive Divisions.' The organizers have allowed women to race in a men's category event. So you could have 5 men and 3 women for an 8+, or you could have one man and one woman in a 2x, but both of those events would be considered men's events and both of the example boats might be competing with all male boats.

Hope that clears it up.
