Sydney martial arts expert Penny Gulliver to hold self-defence course for kids and teens - Australia Gay News Network

Martial arts expert Penny Gulliver is running a four-week self-defence course designed specifically for kids and young teens. Gulliver is the founder and driving force behind GLMA, or Gay and Lesbian Martial Arts, a long-running Sydney-based community martial arts club. GLMA holds regular kung fu and kickboxing courses for adults, as well as regular training sessions for competitions in Australia and around the world. Gulliver’s self-defence courses for LGBTI people, which incorporate kung fu and kickboxing principles and strategies, are extremely popular.

The course for kids is open to those aged 7 to 14. It will run throughout the school holidays, starting on Tuesday, January 12, and are held at Erskineville Town Hall from 6pm-7pm.

 

The cost is $78. Price includes a free t-shirt and a certificate on completion. Parents are welcome to attend.
