Fixing The Community Digest Bad Links

For those of you who tried to click on the links from the 27 August 2015 GLRF Community Digest, you were served nothing but error pages.

This issue caught us by surprise. We noticed one bad link in the digest but we didn't think to check the rest of the links in the digest until this morning when we discovered that all of the links were corrupted.

What happened? Last week, we switched the digest transmission from a task issued in php to a server-based cron. We know, that's total gibberish. In other words, we changed how the system that assembled the GRLF Community digest. It was supposed to be more automated and reliable. What was unanticipated was some lines of software code that generate the links in the digest. They obviously did not like the new automation system.

We're working on a fix and if we don't get a fix by this Thursday, 03 September, we will revert to the old fashioned system.

Think of it as switching between the old fashioned method of a wake up call being done by someone at the front desk and a new, reliable automated system.

Obviously the wake up calls went to the wrong persons/rooms.... so to speak.

Again, we apologize for the annoyance that some of you felt when you took the time to click on the links only to be met with errors. Thank you for your patience as we keep trying to improve the GLRF website features.

The GLRF Team.
