Translation Added To Glrf Categories Articles
In recognition that GLRF is a worldwide community with members from 40 countries, we have worked very hard to find a translation solution for the articles portion of GLRF Categories.
Our initial hope had been to allow a drop down selection inside the iframe of the displayed article, allowing our members to read a Google-translation version of the article on the spot. However, the complexities of coding and iframes prevented us from achieving that goal.
Now we have a solution. You will find in the sidebar to the right of every article a translation block. It has been configured to serve every member who visits an article, matching the member's registered country language with the default translation language. So for those in most countries, all you have to do is click the translate button. For Canadians, and the Swiss, expats like Adrian or Italians living in France, you may need to select the language you feel is most appropriate.
We hope you find the service useful. There is a lot more going on in the worlwide rowing community than you may realize. Yes, we know that Google Translate only works so well but we hope you do get a sense of the article.
If you would like a different shape for the translated article popup, please let us know!
