The December 2013 Cox Box Squax newsletter went out to the entire GLRF membership, whether they subscribed or unsubscribed. Why? Software updates.
We use a software script called Phplist to send out the newsletter and it had a major upgrade from version 2.10.4 to version 3.0.5. The upgrade is great but it affected other software plugins that provide the membership subscribes and unsubscribes.
We're working on a full fix but in the meantime, we have a manual database query that we will run before sending out any newsletters or updates, ensuring that only those members who want to receive the news, do so.
