We are helping to support a high school crew team starting up in Palmetto, Florida. This team is based in a public school in a historically disadvantaged area. As we all know Crew is an expensive sport to start, and this team is working hard to raise the funds to buy enough equipment to be able to get all of their rowers on the water at each practice.

The team is currently running a fund raising lottery called a Chopper Dropper. This event will be hosted by Jane Lynch on May 14, 2011. The team is selling lottery tickets at $50 each. Only 2000 will be sold, each entitling the owner to a numbered golf ball that will be dropped from a helicopter onto a golf green. The owner of the closest ball to the hole will win $25,000, the next 2 closest will win $5,000, and the next four will win $1000. The tickets also entitle the bearer to entry to the event.

Of course, everyone who buys a ticket may not be able to come to Palmetto Florida for the big day. But, if you purchase a lottery ticket through this site you would not only have our gratitude, and be helping a great bunch of kids enjoy a sport that we love, but you will also receive a personalized autographed picture from Jane (e.g. Face it you want to be me, Jane Lynch. or I Love a sport that starts as a form of punishment, Jane Lynch).

The event is soon, and the kids are doing their best to sell these tickets in the midst of a hard hit local economy. Please do consider helping them out.
